Jon Gray
Jon Gray Stacking up bullpen sessions
Thu, Jun 26, 2025, 8:53 AM
Gray (wrist) threw a bullpen session Wednesday prior to the Rangers' game against the Orioles at Camden Yards, MLB.com reports.
Analysis: Gray threw his second bullpen session within the last week and third overall. He'll get one or two more before the Rangers engage in discussions about the right-hander's next steps.
Alejandro Osuna
Alejandro Osuna Fills in for injured teammate
Thu, Jun 26, 2025, 8:44 AM
Osuna started in left field and went 0-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-0 win over the Orioles.
Analysis: All of Osuna's offensive activity came in the fifth inning, when he walked, stole a base and scored on a Corey Seager single. The theft was his first in 17 games since having his contract selected at the end of May. Osuna got the start after Wyatt Langford reported tightness in his left side. Evan Carter replaced Langford defensively in center field, while Osuna slotted in for him in the order.
Marcus Semien
Marcus Semien Logs three hits in win
Thu, Jun 26, 2025, 8:38 AM
Semien went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-0 win over Baltimore.
Analysis: Semien doubled and scored the Rangers' first run in the second inning and singled home a run in the fifth. He continued a remarkable turnaround at the plate; Semien sports a .352/.410/.602 line with four home runs, eight doubles, one triple, 15 RBI and 18 runs scored over the last 24 games. He spent 59 games with an average below .200 and is now up to .229, its highest point since Opening Day, when he went 2-for-4.
Jonah Heim
Jonah Heim Homers Wednesday
Thu, Jun 26, 2025, 8:22 AM
Heim went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Wednesday's 7-0 win over the Orioles.
Analysis: Heim put the finishing touches on the Rangers' win, launching a solo shot off Scott Blewett in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 7-0. It's Heim's first homer since June 4 -- he'd gone just 3-for-23 (.130) in seven games prior to Wednesday. Overall, the switch-hitting backstop is slashing .230/.266/.380 with eight homers, 22 RBI, 18 runs scored and three steals across 214 plate appearances this season.
Josh Jung
Josh Jung Homers, drives in three
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 8:22 PM
Jung went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a third RBI in Wednesday's 7-0 victory over the Orioles.
Analysis: Jung opened the scoring in the second inning with a two-out, RBI single before extending the lead to 3-0 with an opposite-field homer off Brandon Young, his eighth of the year. The 27-year-old Jung has gone 4-for-9 in his last two games following a rough 2-for-30 stretch. Overall, Jung's batting .246 with a .677 OPS, 34 RBI, 25 runs scored and four steals across 277 plate appearances this season.
Jacob deGrom
Jacob deGrom Blanks Baltimore
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 8:13 PM
DeGrom (8-2) earned the win Wednesday over the Orioles, allowing one hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.
Analysis: DeGrom was nearly untouchable Wednesday -- he held the Orioles hitless through seven innings before Colton Cowser led off the eighth with a single. It's the fifth straight quality start for deGrom, who's gone 4-0 with a 1.41 ERA in that span (32 innings). His ERA is down to a sparkling 2.08 on the season with a 0.91 WHIP and 94:20 K:BB across 16 starts (95.1 innings). DeGrom will look to keep rolling in his next outing, currently scheduled as a home rematch with Baltimore.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Battling side tightness
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 4:23 PM
Langford's absence from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles is due to left side tightness, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analysis: The 23-year-old will undergo medical testing once the Rangers return home after Wednesday's series finale in Baltimore. There doesn't seem to be significant concern for Langford's injury, though he could still end up requiring a stint on the injured list.
Ezequiel Duran
Ezequiel Duran Sitting for second straight game
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 4:06 PM
Duran is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Analysis: After Jake Burger (oblique) was placed on the injured list Saturday, Duran started each of the Rangers' ensuing three games at first base and went 1-for-10 with a walk and a run scored. The poor three-game run as a starter may have closed Duran's window for steady playing time temporarily, as he'll now find himself on the bench against a right-handed starting pitcher (Brandon Young) for the second straight day. Super-utility man Josh Smith will serve as the Rangers' first baseman Wednesday, and the Rangers may use Burger's vacated lineup spot to cycle in a number of different players at designated hitter.
Wyatt Langford
Wyatt Langford Out of Texas lineup
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 2:50 PM
Langford is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Baltimore.
Analysis: Langford missed two games over the weekend with back stiffness and has gone 1-for-13 with four strikeouts since returning to action, which includes a 0-for-6 effort Tuesday. The Rangers haven't provided any indication that he's had a setback with the injury, but Langford will get a day off to regroup. Alejandro Osuna will start in left field and bat ninth for the Rangers.
Evan Carter
Evan Carter Key role in Tuesday's win
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 8:28 AM
Carter went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Orioles.
Analysis: On a night when half of Texas' runs came on close plays at the plate, Carter scored the biggest one of the night. The center fielder began the 10th inning as the phantom runner, advanced to third on a wild pitch and then scampered home on Sam Haggerty's fielder's choice as he just got his hand under Gary Sanchez's tag attempt. Through 17 games in June, Carter is slashing .320/.404/.560 with three homers, three steals, eight RBI and 10 runs as he finally begins to return to the form he flashed as a rookie in 2023.
Robert Garcia
Robert Garcia Picks up sixth save
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 8:21 AM
Garcia struck out one in a perfect 10th inning Tuesday to record his sixth save of the season in a 6-5 win over the Orioles.
Analysis: Luke Jackson worked 1.1 scoreless innings in front of him to collect the win, and Garcia was dominant to secure the save -- after the phantom runner advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt, the southpaw struck out Dylan Carlson and got Jackson Holliday to fly out weakly to right field to end things, tossing seven of his nine pitches for strikes overall. Jackson appears to have worked his way back into the highest-leverage mix, collecting a win, a save and two holds over his last five appearances, but Garcia is still manager Bruce Bochy's preferred closing option for the moment despite blowing two of his last seven save chances. During that 10-appearance span, Garcia's posted a shaky 4.82 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB in 9.1 innings.
Jacob Latz
Jacob Latz Brilliant in no-decision
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 8:13 AM
Latz came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Orioles, allowing two runs on one hit and three walks over six-plus innings. He struck out four.
Analysis: The southpaw had a no-hitter going through six innings as the Rangers built a 3-0 lead, but after Latz gave up a single to Ramon Laureano and walked Gunnar Henderson to begin the seventh, he had to watch from the dugout as Chris Martin served up three straight home runs to erase his chance at a win. Latz has been outstanding over his last five appearances (two starts), posting a 3.50 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 18 innings. His 14:8 K:BB over that stretch is less impressive, and suggests that he likely wouldn't sustain his current level of success if he were to receive a longer run in the rotation. With Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) on track to return from the injured list this weekend, Latz will likely head back to the bullpen.
Sam Haggerty
Sam Haggerty Racks up three steals
Wed, Jun 25, 2025, 8:06 AM
Haggerty entered Tuesday's game as a pinch hitter and stole three bases in a 6-5 extra-inning win over Baltimore. He went 0-for-1 with a walk and an RBI.
Analysis: Haggerty was vital to the Rangers' win. He walked in the eighth, stole two bases and scored the game-tying run that set up the extra inning. In the 10th, his fielder's choice brought home the game-winning run. Haggerty's been on a bit of roll lately, going 8-for-20 (.400) with two extra-base hits, one RBI, five walks, three steals and four runs over the last seven games. The three steals give him eight through 35 games this season. The switch hitter is usually in the starting lineup against lefties and will fill in when needed against righties.
Cody Bradford
Cody Bradford Will undergo UCL surgery
Tue, Jun 24, 2025, 2:13 PM
Bradford will undergo season-ending surgery Wednesday to repair the UCL in his left elbow, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Bradford had appeared close to beginning a rehab assignment, but the Rangers announced that the southpaw encountered a significant setback and will require surgery. It won't be known until the operation whether Bradford will need Tommy John surgery or an internal brace procedure. The latter would give him a better chance of contributing at some point next season, while the former could potentially knock him out until 2027.
Marc Church
Marc Church On Triple-A IL with elbow injury
Tue, Jun 24, 2025, 10:52 AM
Church is on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Round Rock with right elbow inflammation, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analysis: Church has spent most of this season at Round Rock and had struggled this month before getting hurt, yielding six runs with a 4:9 K:BB over 4.2 innings. The Rangers are still evaluating the reliever's injury before mapping out a rehab plan.
Justin Foscue
Justin Foscue Make season debut
Tue, Jun 24, 2025, 7:33 AM
Foscue started at first base and went 0-for-3 in Monday's 6-0 loss to Baltimore.
Analysis: Foscue, who was called up from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday, made his season debut for the Rangers. His MLB debut came in April of 2024 but was cut short immediately by an oblique injury. The 14th overall pick in the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, Foscue came up as a second baseman but has since added first base to his profile and could see time there with Jake Burger (oblique) on the 10-day injured list.
Patrick Corbin
Patrick Corbin Coughs up five runs
Mon, Jun 23, 2025, 9:22 PM
Corbin (4-7) allowed five runs on nine hits over five-plus innings Monday, striking out six and taking a loss against Baltimore.
Analysis: Corbin gave up one run through four innings before Jackson Holliday ripped a three-run shot in the fifth. Corbin then loaded the bases without recording an out in the sixth inning but Baltimore only scratched across one run after he was removed. He produced a surprising 3.13 ERA through his first six starts this year but has since registered a 5.04 ERA over his last 44.2 frames (eight appearances). Corbin now owns a 4.24 ERA and a 59:23 K:BB for the season. It's unclear when his next start will be, as Jacob Latz will make a spot-start Tuesday and Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) is expected to return from the injured list later this week.
Jacob Latz
Jacob Latz Confirmed for Tuesday's start
Mon, Jun 23, 2025, 8:38 PM
Latz will start Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Analysis: It was reported earlier in the day that Latz was tentatively lining up for Tuesday's start, and the club confirmed the southpaw as the starter following Monday's 6-0 loss. This will mark Latz's second start of the season, though he worked 5.2 frames in relief Thursday and is stretched out to provide length, making this more of a spot start versus a bullpen game.
Jacob Latz
Jacob Latz Tentatively lined up for Tuesday
Mon, Jun 23, 2025, 4:46 PM
Latz appears tentatively scheduled to start Tuesday's game in Baltimore, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Analysis: Dane Dunning is also an option to start Tuesday, but it sounds like the Rangers will give the ball to Latz as long as he isn't needed out of the bullpen Monday. Fifteen of Latz's 16 appearances this season have come out of the bullpen, but he went 5.2 relief innings and threw 82 pitches last Thursday against the Royals, so he's stretched out to provide length Tuesday. With Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) expected back later this week, it would likely be just a spot start for Latz.
Josh Smith
Josh Smith Idle for series opener
Mon, Jun 23, 2025, 2:54 PM
Smith is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles.
Analysis: The left-handed-hitting Smith started against Pirates lefty Bailey Falter in Sunday's 8-3 loss, but he'll head to the bench for the series opener in Baltimore while the Orioles send southpaw Trevor Rogers to the bump. Jonah Heim will replace Smith in the lineup at designated hitter.
